Process

A clear process.
A fixed price.

Six steps from the first conversation to delivery. Transparent, predictable and without surprises.

01

Introduction

Day 1

First we talk. What do you want to achieve, who is your target audience, what are your preferences. No pressure — just clarity.

The introduction usually takes place by video call or phone; most of our projects run entirely digitally, so it doesn't matter where in the Netherlands you are. We discuss what your business does, who your customers are and what the website, web shop or app needs to deliver: more enquiries, online sales or less manual work in your administration. If you already have a website, we also look at what is working well and what could be better.

02

Concept & quote

Day 1–2

We translate your wishes into a concrete proposal with scope, planning and a fixed price. You usually receive the quote within 24 hours. No surprises afterwards.

The quote states exactly what you get: which pages or features, what is and isn't included in the price, and when it will be ready. For a website or web shop the domain registration is included; hosting and maintenance run separately through the all-in maintenance contract. For a custom web app or mobile app we prepare a fixed quote after an intake call, based on the functionality you need. We only start once you have given your approval.

03

Design

Day 2–5

First wireframes, then the visual design in Figma or directly in code. You review every step and we adjust until it's right — up to 2 revision rounds included as standard.

In this phase we define the structure of the site: which pages there will be, what goes on each page and how visitors end up at your contact form or shopping cart. The design is mobile-first, because most visitors arrive on their phone. You supply the texts and photos yourself, or on request we write the copy for you, tailored to your target audience and the search terms you want to be found for.

04

Development

Day 6–14

Weekly updates in a staging environment where you can see everything. Feedback goes straight into the next iteration.

We build on modern technology, so your site loads quickly and performs well in Google. During the build we get the basics for findability right straight away: clean URLs, schema.org structured data and a technically sound structure. We also take care of GDPR in this phase, with a cookie banner and a privacy statement. For a web shop we connect payments through Mollie and iDEAL; for a web app we build the features step by step, so you can test along the way. A web shop usually takes 4 to 6 weeks, a web app or custom project 6 to 12 weeks.

05

Testing & launch

Day 14–18

Cross-browser, mobile, accessibility, SEO and speed (Lighthouse ≥90) — everything is checked before we go live. Delivery at an agreed moment.

Before going live we test the site on different browsers and devices, check forms, payments and links, and measure speed and accessibility. Only when everything is right do we put the site live, at the moment we agreed together. SSL (the padlock in the browser) is switched on automatically. After delivery you receive all the information you need by email.

06

Aftercare & maintenance

From day 18

After the launch we remain available for updates, extensions and monitoring. Optional monthly maintenance contract from €15.99 per month.

A website is never really finished. With the all-in maintenance contract we keep the technology up to date, make daily backups and monitor your site; small changes are included, as is 1 hour of support per month. Larger extensions are quoted in advance at a fixed price. If you also want to be found better in Google and AI assistants on a structural basis, you can add the SEO & GEO subscription, which is cancellable monthly.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the process

How long does it take to build a website?

On average 2 to 3 weeks for a complete website, from introduction to launch. A one-page website or a small change can be quicker; a web shop or custom web app usually takes a little longer.

Can I supply my own texts and photos?

Yes, always. Don't have any texts yet? Then we can write them for you on request, tailored to your target audience and search terms.

What if I want something changed later?

With the all-in maintenance contract (from €15.99 per month) small changes are always included. Larger extensions are quoted separately, in advance and at a fixed price.

What are the steps when working with a web agency like SBuilder?

Six steps: introduction, concept & quote, design, development, testing & launch, and aftercare & maintenance. At every step you get to see something concrete before we move on.
